Ewa Krzatala has been on the faculty of the Royal Conservatory Teacher Training and Children’s Department since 1996 teaching music classes for babies and children ages birth to 12 years as well as professional development courses for adults. In addition Ewa is Programme Coordinator for The Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Music Education, at The Royal Conservatory, where she manages, assists and instructs students in their courses of study. This post-graduate certificate is the only program of its kind in North America, combining the quality and scope of music training at The Royal Conservatory with the exceptional child development curriculum of Ryerson University.

Ewa was born in Warsaw, Poland, where she studied harp and piano, before receiving her Master of Arts Degree in Music Education from the Music Education and Eurhythmics Faculty of the Academy of Music in Gdansk. She came to Canada in 1991 and completed courses in Music in Early Childhood with Donna Wood and Kátalin Forrai, Kodály Pedagogy Certificate with Edith Lantos and Orff Pedagogy with Angela Elster.

A tireless advocate of the importance of music in lives of young children Ewa has served as the President of the Early Childhood Music Association of Ontario for 15 years. Ewa’s other professional memberships include the International Kodály Society, Dalcroze Society of Canada and McMaster Institute for Music and Mind.

Ewa has 20 years of experience of implementing music play based programmes in Toronto daycares, preschools and Montessori schools as well as teaching music enrichment classes to Suzuki students. In 2006 Ewa was nominated by her students and selected as the Royal Conservatory Teacher honoree. Ewa is a national and international clinician and recently presented at the international conferences in Budapest, Hungary, Katowice, Poland and Camrose, Alberta as well as taught a professional development course for early childhood educators in Singapore.

Ewa is a recipient of the Robert and Donna Wood Scholarship (The Early Childhood Music Association of Ontario, 1998), The Brigg’s Family Teachers’ Development Fund Scholarship (The Royal Conservatory, 2017), and the prestigious The International Kátalin Forrai Award (The International Kodály Society, 2017)
