Yasmin Moosa teaches piano, theory, musicianship, ear and rhythmic training, and early childhood music from her private studio in Mississauga, Ontario.
Yasmin's studies of piano pedagogy with Marina Geringas enriched her musical understanding. Taking ear and rhythmic training with Adelina Burashko was invaluable, and her students have benefitted significantly from the insight she gained in studying early childhood music with Donna Woods.
Ms. Moosa has attended all RCM Teacher Professional Development Summits. She has a special interest in pedagogy and regularly attends master classes at The Glen Gould School.
Performance activities include the annual Christmas Market Place at the Mississauga Civic Centre and the ORMTA Teachers in Concert Recitals with her duet partner, Charlotte Sherriff.
Yasmin Moosa was part of the creative evaluation team for the beginner piano method Celebrate Piano! published by The Frederick Harris Music Co., Limited. She is the recipient of awards from the Vladimir Reinhold Scholarship Fund and the Ontario Arts Council, and was honoured with the Special Teacher Award from ORMTA in 2011.
