Because immersion is considered a best practice for language acquisition, Bon Depart (12-24 months) unfolds entirely in French. The environment is very supportive and welcoming, and because the class is rich in gesture and imitation, it's often possible for families who don't have previous experience with French to participate successfully and enjoyably - all that is truly required is a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn! Parent handouts and logistical information will be provided in English (to make sure it reaches everyone), but during class, no translation will be offered, and parents are expected to communicate with their children through supportive gestures and/or simple French words or phrases. Some simultaneous exposure to French outside of music class (in the form of simple stories, recordings, apps, naming of simple everyday objects, etc.) is encouraged but not required.

Students are registered by age as of December 31.
