CBC has published its fifth annual collection of Canada's top 30 classical musicians under 30 years old and once again students and alumni of The Royal Conservatory are represented prominently. In fact, this year more than 70% of the artists and ensembles have a Conservatory connection!
The 22 students and alumni named to the 2017 list include composers, singers, and a characteristically diverse group of instrumentalists. Many have earned positions in acclaimed orchestras, won prizes at prestigious competitions, and performed on great stages around the world.
They all share the experience of studying music through The Royal Conservatory Certificate Program or the professional programs of The Glenn Gould School, The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, and The Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Performance Residency Program.
For the CBC, these young artists are also all deserving of effusive praise: “They're young, highly skilled, creative, disciplined, and determined to make their mark in the world of classical music — and we think they're amazing.”
We couldn’t agree more.
