Deborah Hui

Hello! I have been teaching piano for over 15 years and am excited to share my expertise with students. While teaching started as a side hustle when I was in high school, it has now evolved into being a fulfilling and rewarding career. I hold a Bachelor in Music (BMus) Education from the University of British Columbia, a Masters of Music (MM) in Collaborative Piano and Piano Pedagogy from Baylor University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Collaborative Piano from the University of Colorado Boulder. Over the years, I have taught beginning students with no musical knowledge to undergraduate piano majors. As a performer, I am active primarily in classical music with singers and instrumentalists throughout Toronto, and have also had the opportunity collaborate with jazz and pop musicians. As a teacher, I believe that a classical training is crucial to developing strong technique and music appreciation skills, so that a student can later be successful in other styles if they wish.
