This online series follows The Royal Conservatory Orchestra and their historic 2024 Carnegie Hall debut.

Comprised of students in the Temerty Orchestral Program at The Glenn Gould School, follow the Royal Conservatory Orchestra's historic journey from The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto to the fabled Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage in New York City on May 7, 2024 as we “Countdown to Carnegie”!

Episode 4: The Beginning of the Dream

Preparations of the Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Kelly-Marie Murphy begin in earnest! The Carnegie Hall debut performance will be led by Conductor Emeritus of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Peter Oundjian, and will feature RCM Artist-in-Residence, Stewart Goodyear. 


Episode 3: Nothing is Impossible

Dr. Peter Simon defied expectations 27 years ago and successfully established one of the finest performance training schools in North America - The Glenn Gould School. Its Carnegie Hall debut will be a capstone moment for Dr. Simon who retires in August 2024 after an illustrious 33-year career as President & CEO of The Royal Conservatory.


Episode 2: The Ferrari of Young Orchestras

The calibre of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) has never been higher with Maestro Earl Lee calling them the "Ferrari" of young orchestras. Learn why in Episode 2 of Countdown to Carnegie!

The excitement begins as students and faculty talk about what the Royal Conservatory Orchestra's Carnegie Hall debut means to them.
