GGS Playlist: Chamber Music Highlights

While this past year posed considerable challenges in terms of presenting live performances, it also provided some unexpected opportunities for GGS students to record in Koerner Hall.  The result of this recording activity is a collection of some amazing chamber music performances – including those featured on this playlist of highlights from Fall 2020:

  • Ensemble performances of C.P.E. Bach’s Symphony for Strings in B minor H. 661, Richard Strauss’ Sextet from Cappricio and Franz Schubert’s Death and the Maiden Quartet No. 14 D810
  • Karen Duong (ADP ‘ 21, viola) and Sasha Bult-Ito (BMus ’19 / ADP ’21, piano) - Paul Hindemith’s Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op. 11, No.4
  • Ji Soo Choi (ADP ’21, violin) and Godwin Friesen (BMus ’20 / ADP ‘22, piano) - Robert Schumann’s Violin Sonata No. 1 in A minor, Op. 105
  • Christian Wrona (ADP ’22, viola) and Eric Guo (BMus ’24, piano) - Johannes Brahms’ Sonata in F Minor, Op. 120, No. 1
  • Yanet Campbell Secades (ADP ‘22, violin) and Mariya Orlenko (BMus ’21, piano) - Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 9, Op. 47, “Kreutzer”
