Disciplines

The Glenn Gould School is a post-secondary institution with a focus on performance in three disciplines, offered at all levels of study (Bachelor, Post-Bachelor, and Post-Graduate).

Piano

Established by Royal Conservatory alumni Ian Ihnatowycz and Marta Witer, The Ihnatowycz Piano Program makes a significant contribution to the high standards of the academic and performance-based learning opportunities that distinguish The Glenn Gould School. The Program is comprised of The Ihnatowycz Chair in Piano as well as support for the activities of the piano faculty and visiting artists, and funding for piano maintenance and restoration.

Voice

The Glenn Gould School’s Vocal Studies and Price Opera Program offer exceptional training and performance opportunities for students. Under the leadership of Vocal Chair and Head of the Vocal Department, Adrianne Pieczonka, students participate in master classes, operas, and vocal showcase concerts.

Orchestral Instruments

The Glenn Gould School’s Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) is widely regarded as one of the best training orchestras in North America. Part of the Temerty Orchestral Program, GGS’s professional training program for exceptionally gifted orchestral musicians, the RCO consists of instrumental students in the undergraduate and graduate programs of The Glenn Gould School.

Bachelor of Music, Performance (Honours)* and Artist Diploma Program applications for the 2024-25 academic year will be accepted from October 1 through December 15, 2023.
