The Robert W. and G. Ann Corcoran Concerto Competition
The Robert W. and G. Ann Corcoran Concerto Competition is a free annual event and a wonderful opportunity to hear classical music performed by the next generation of artists – students of The Glenn Gould School – performing in one of the world’s great concert venues, Koerner Hall.
The finals feature three to four young musicians who demonstrate exceptional potential for a solo career in classical music, performing concerti. Finalists automatically win a cash prize and a soloist performance with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra next season and compete for the prestigious $5000 Corcoran Grand Prize.
The winner of the Corcoran Grand Prize is chosen by a jury of acclaimed artists. For the 2022-23 finals, the jury was comprised of:
- Anya Alexeyev, piano
- Jonathan Crow, violin
- Dawn Upshaw, soprano
- Carol Wincenc, flute
