In November, GGS welcomed two musicians, violinist Isobel Howard and pianist Sejin Yoon, from the Royal Academy of Music as part of the Sir Elton John Global Exchange Programme.
In addition to coaching sessions with GGS faculty, both Ms. Howard and Ms. Yoon had the opportunity to perform with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra on November 25th, the Rebanks Fellows in a concert on November 30th in Mazzoleni Hall, and a concert at the Canadian Opera Company’s Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre on December 1st.

Developed by the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, the programme enables students to take part in educational exchanges at prestigious music institutions throughout the world. The Glenn Gould School is among 12 leading music education institutions invited to participate in collaborative projects, giving students an unprecedented opportunity for a cross-cultural experience.

"We had the best time in Toronto and absolutely loved our experience at the GGS! It was incredible to see how much everyone cared and welcomed us into the school and playing chamber music with fantastic musicians was such a blast! Not only that we were able to do what we love – making music, learning from different professors/musicians and interacting with the audience, but we also got to make lasting friendships with such delightful people. We couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity – thank you so much for having us!" said Ms. Yoon.

"We had the most amazing time in Toronto, it was better than we could have imagined – everyone in the school, staff and students made us feel welcome and gave us the best experience possible. Playing chamber music and orchestra was a complete delight, we loved making music with such lovely and passionate people and we really hope they felt the same!" said Ms. Howard.

In February 2023, GGS violist Rebecca Miller will be travelling to the Royal Academy in London to participate in an orchestral project, as well as performances and coaching as part of the programme.
