Vocal Studies and the Price Opera Program

The Glenn Gould School’s Voice Program and Price Opera Program offer exceptional training and performance opportunities for students.

Under the leadership of Vocal Chair and Head of the Vocal Department, Adrianne Pieczonka, students participate in master classes, operas, and vocal showcase concerts.

Students participating in master classes receive further coaching and mentorship from renowned visiting vocal instructors.

Through the Price Opera Program, undergraduate and graduate students perform two operas per year. The Fall Opera is presented in Mazzoleni Concert Hall, The Royal Conservatory’s historic and intimate 237-seat hall. The Spring Opera is a larger production presented in Koerner Hall, fully staged and accompanied by members of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO).

GGS voice students also perform an annual vocal showcase and additional performance opportunities are often available through the Canadian Opera Company’s Free Concert Series and Nine Sparrows Arts Foundation’s Lunchtime Chamber Music Series.
