Carolyn Pratt has more than twenty years of experience teaching piano and rudiments in her private home studio in Waterloo, Ontario. She encourages her students to participate in recitals, examinations, and the Kiwanis Music Festival.
Carolyn enjoyed working with all her piano teachers over the years: Eileen Stewart, Helen Thrasher, Charles Heffernan, and Lee Willingham, and her cello teachers Peter Weibe and Ben Bolt-Martin. She studied her theoretical subjects during the summers at The Royal Conservatory and appreciated the classroom experience that that offered.
She attends ORMTA and Royal Conservatory workshops as presented throughout the year, and the Professional Development days for theory examiners at The Conservatory.
Carolyn plays cello in the Waterloo Chambers Players and the KW Community Orchestra, and is a volunteer pianist at a Kitchener nursing home where church services are held. She accompanies violin students at the annual Kiwanis Music Festival and for examinations.
Ms. Pratt is an active member of ORMTA in the Kitchener-Waterloo Branch and has held various executive positions.
