Theory & History

Daisy Tam is a music theory faculty member at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists of The Royal Conservatory. She is a versatile instructor who teaches all levels of music theory. Under her guidance, students have achieved outstanding examination results and top awards, including the RCM National Diploma Gold Medal in Theory.

In addition, Daisy is an active member of The Royal Conservatory’s College of Examiners. She is a theory examiner in intermediate, junior, and senior levels and contributes to a variety of special projects.

Daisy has presented at Pedagogy into Practice (Santa Barbara, California) and has participated in Workshops in Music Theory Pedagogy (University of Massachusetts Amherst and The University of British Columbia).

Daisy was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Toronto, Canada. She holds a Master of Arts in Music Theory and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors Specialization in Music from The University of Western Ontario. Also, she holds an ARCT in Piano Performance from The Royal Conservatory.
