Michèle Wheatley-Brown teaches piano, theory rudiments, harmony, keyboard harmony, form and analysis, and music history to students from beginner to advanced levels. After conducting extensive research into the physical aspect of piano technique with the Piano Pedagogy Research Laboratory at the University of Ottawa, Michèle has a special interest in teaching healthy technique to prevent and overcome playing-related injuries.
She is currently apprenticing with Lisa Marsh at Portland State University to certify as an Andover Educator, an internationally recognized group of educators who teach accurate and relevant anatomical information about the body in movement in order to help musicians perform with freedom, ease, and without injury.
Ms. Wheatley-Brown presents pre-concert talks for an exciting concert series of which she is the founder and artistic/executive director, "High River Gift of Music," designed to open the world of classical music to audiences in southern Alberta.
Her adjudication activities include music festivals throughout Alberta.
Michèle acts as pianist for soloists and choirs, performing in both public and house concerts.
