Alexander Technique Lessons
Alexander Technique Lessons
Course Description
The Alexander Technique is a way of learning to move with more awareness and ease. Taught in many of the world’s leading conservatories, it is a simple and practical method for improving freedom of movement, balance, support and coordination. Musicians often credit the Technique with optimizing their performance by helping them move more efficiently.
One lesson can help give a fresh perspective on questions about posture and tension. As with any skill, the longer you study and practice, the more you learn. The Technique is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a re-education of mind and body.
These sessions are taught by musician and CANSTAT-Certified Alexander Technique teacher,
Tanya Bénard, who specializes in working with musicians. They are especially recommended for adults (at any level) and advanced teens, although can be adapted to a range of situations.
Students interested in working with Tanya should contact The Oscar Peterson School at
