Toronto Jazz Fest / Shakura S'Aida presents On Their Shoulders

This historic concert will celebrate musicians like Frank Wright, Archie Alleyne, Jodie Drake, Jackie Shane, Dianne Brooks, and more, while also highlighting many of  the landmarks  that  provided safe spaces for the African Canadian music community and their audiences. Live performances featuring 98-year-old Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Medal recipient Ada Lee, Honorary Member of the Order of Canada recipient Jackie Richardson, Mississauga Walk of Fame recipient Bobby Dean Blackburn, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee and Order of Canada recipient Molly Johnson,  and multiple award recipients Joe Sealy, Joy Lapps, SATE, and Jay Douglas supported by an all star house band - led by award-winning and Juno nominated Musical Director Eddie Bullen.
