I have been teaching flute and piccolo for over 40 years. A number of my students were being accepted by U of T, UBC, Cap College and University of Western Ontario. In addition one of my students ,in the late 90s ,was selected to represent BC for the National Music scholarship under the age of 18. In 2021 my other student won the championship in Kiwanis level 10 flute competition .The same student received a 93.5 mark for his level 9 flute exam. Last year 2024, another flute student had won a musical scholarship to enter U. Victoria, He also won the SD#42 District Authority Scholarship for the Art 2023! In April 2025, my other student has won the World Strides Performing Art Maestro Award (1sy Place ) in Seattle and she is invited to participate in competition in New York!
After I retired as a school music teacher, I have dedicated myself totally to nurture my flute students whether they wanted to be a professional or not. I have adult students who have been enjoying my flute lessons for more than 15 years. At present I have limited myself to teach a chosen few! There are at the most 2 more spaces available!
Since 1998 ,I was appointed as the Wind Department Head of BC Conservatory of Music, Burnaby. As a performing musician, I am an active member of the flute ensemble Fluterrific and the principal flautist of the Brock House Orchestra.
