Debra began her Royal Conservatory private piano studies at age 9 until the age of 19. She attended The School Of The Performing Arts at Mayfield Secondary and also entered York University as a first year music major. She has a wide range of musical interests and enjoys classical, rock, folk, 80's, alternative, reggae, ska and other genres of music.
Debra believes that all students should have a thorough understanding of music. She is committed to helping improve reading skills, musical analysis, identifying areas in need of improvement and prepping for examinations and performances. She teaches beginner to level 6 RCM and instructs ages 7 to seniors. She has been teaching privately and for a variety of schools for over 10 years. Her students often place at yearly competitions and score above the national average in examinations. She believes that if her student's can read music and understand and interpret rhythm, technique and dynamics on their own, that she's fulfilled her job as a teacher.
