Debra Ali

Debra began her Royal Conservatory private piano studies at age 9 until the age of 19. She attended The School Of The Performing Arts at Mayfield Secondary and was a first year music major at York University. She enjoys a wide range of musical genres including classical, rock, folk, 80's, alternative, reggae, ska, calypso and more. Her main focus as a teacher is classical with a popular mix. Debra believes that all students should have a thorough understanding of music. She is committed to helping improve reading skills, musical analysis, identifying areas in need of improvement and preparing for examinations and performances. She teaches beginner to level 6 RCM and instructs ages 7 to seniors. She has been teaching privately and for a variety of schools for over 10 years. Her students often place at yearly competitions and score above the national average in examinations. She believes that if student's can read and interpret music with little help, that she's fulfilled her job as a teacher.
