I believe that every student is unique and has something special that he or she can bring into his or her education process. My philosophy of teaching is to help my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are. I am trying to be not only a music teacher but also a friend who is guiding the student’s way to success. During the lessons, I always try to read the student’s temperament and his or her interests. It helps me to build trust and choose the best teaching style which would fit this individual in particular at that time. I am always discussing the repertoire with the student before giving it to learn. I am providing several options to choose before I am deciding with what compositions we going further. With my teaching approach, I am doing my best to make my students understand how music changing the people, making them better, and helping them to be happy. I believe that the greatest student’s achievement is only the result of his or her efforts. I am encouraging them by complementing their efforts and making sure that all material is understood before a student is ready to move to the next level. "You are a musician and it makes you a special human!” one of my teachers told me and I agree with this. Trying not to forget that one of the functions of music is to communicate with minds by emotions. A good musician can unite a group of individuals into a same-minded group by his or her music. The quality and results of the musician’s achievements mostly depend on his or her teacher. The music teacher must be creative. The important part of the music teacher’s creativity is the creation of various methods and means that allow to “reaching out” of the person’s internal reserves. During my lessons, I am trying to show students in the world of fairy-tale created themselves by the music they play. During my classes, I am introducing the biography of different composers and we are listening to their compositions. With the friendly discussion, my students are telling me what instruments they heard and what they felt during the listening. This method allows them to connect with the piece they will play, and I hope to inspire them to love music even more. Overall, I believe that a sense of discipline and responsibility will help to approach the high-level of success. In my teaching method, I encourage my students to participate in competitions and assessments. Also, education technology tools must be included in their education. The philosophy of my teaching approach is based on building a trusted environment with the student. Also, I am providing materials and tools for his or her education. I am not teaching them, I am helping them to learn. I am getting a lot of positive feedback from my students and many of them achieved good results. Feeling and understanding music is the key to my philosophy. I provide to my students with a solid foundation of the standard classical piano repertoire, technical skills, as well as music theory. My students will be able to play in the future for their pleasure or become a professional musician on their choice. I am teaching children from 4 years old as well as adults. I can teach in both languages English and Russian. I am accepting students with any purpose: ether enjoyment or to make music their career. I have hands-on experience to prepare the student for the official RCM exams up to level 8. My teaching approach would be based on creating effort and joy balance.
