Janet Samra

There is nothing I love more than introducing or reintroducing the piano to students of all ages and abilities. I have studied extensively on how to teach people with a myriad of backgrounds including those who have ADHD, ADD, Asperger's Syndrome, FAS, gifted children, and more. However, I have seen that all children are gifted in some way, and it is up to me to bring that out in them. I have spent a decade in university and earned a Masters Degree. I also, of course, studied the Royal Conservatory of Music piano and theory curriculum and earned an "Inspiration" award at the Abbotsford, B.C. Piano Festival. I can imagine myself teaching piano for decades to come. Music is a universal language, one that even those who can no longer speak can understand. There is a song for every emotion and music itself is a very powerful tool for healing. If you asked me "What would you like to do?" I would say "I am doing it and I hope I never have to stop." I enjoy connecting with each of my students as much as I enjoy the piano itself and guiding and teaching them. I can't imagine a more rewarding career.
