I am Canadian, but live in New York city where I went many years ago to study at the Juilliard School, and haven't left ever since. I currently teach at the Juilliard School in the pre-college division. I am truly passionate about teaching, and have raised many young professional musicians who have entered the field in many different capacities, as well as amateurs who have carried their love of music with them throughout their lives. Along with my husband, violinist Arik Braude, we formed an ensemble of young professionals at the start of their careers (www.jvny.org), who perform in various venues, from established concert series to outreach performances for audiences who cannot normally access music. I truly believe in the power of music to bring human beings together, to access our higher selves and to ultimately live peacefully together in this world. One of my greatest joys in life has been to raise youngsters from their early stages of development all the way into their careers, and then to witness them thriving. My hope is to help encourage each student to develop their full potential and to develop a love for music.
