Victoria Warfield

Miss Warfield has always been in demand as piano teacher. Her students have consistently maintained a keen interest in making beautiful music. Many have achieved success in the Royal Conservatory of Toronto examinations and received awards in national and local music competitions. Her students range in ability from beginner to performer, and in age from preschoolers to seniors. Her teaching style is a fusion of European and North American influences and methods, with a strong emphasis on note reading and music appreciation. Victoria Warfield started her piano studies locally with Sherron Highsted-Berge and Audrey Mallinson. At the age of sixteen, she completed the ARCT-Piano Performance and entered UBC on scholarship, studying with Glen Geary and Dr. Dale Reubart. Over the years, she has continued her studies with such world-class artists as Anton Kuerti, Elyakkim Taussig, John Ogdon, Harold Zabrack, and Mark Westcott. Miss Warfield has given recitals throughout B.C. and Washington state as a soloist and chamber performer. She has directed several choirs. In addition, she has been active in musical theatre as a musical director, producer, and composer/arranger. Participating at all levels of music competitions, Miss Warfield has acted as an adjudicator, as well as a coordinator of music festivals in B.C. Currently she is the president of the Richmond branch of the BCRMTA.
