Taylor Academy Practice Room Bookings

Rooms are available for Advanced Bookings at the following times: 

Mon-Thurs: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. & 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.   
Fri: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.   
Sat: 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. 
Sun & Holidays*: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. 
*Thanksgiving, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day 

Policies for Minors/Age Restrictions: 

  • Taylor Academy students under the age of 14 will be permitted to practice at the Conservatory until 8:00 p.m. 
  • Taylor Academy students 14 and 15 years of age will be permitted to practice at the Conservatory until 9:00 p.m.
  • Taylor Academy students 16 and 17 years of age will be permitted to practice at the Conservatory until 10:00 p.m.
  • Taylor Academy students over 17 years of age will be permitted to practice at the Conservatory until 11:00 p.m.
  • Taylor Academy students of any age accompanied by a parent will be permitted to practice at the Conservatory until 11:00 p.m.

Advanced Booking Policies: 

  • Requests can be submitted 2 to 5 days in advance (For example on a Sunday you can request rooms for the following Tuesday to Friday).
  • Bookings are not confirmed until you receive an email with a room confirmation.
  • Advanced booking times can be booked for any duration that falls within the times listed at the top of the page, except for;
  • Sundays & Holidays, bookings are limited to a maximum of 2 hours per day. At the end of the 2 hours, you may go to the Service Desk to request to extend your booking for an additional 2 hours. Requests will be granted pending availability. 
  • If you can't make any or all of your practice time, email [email protected] to cancel.

Rehearsals with Accompanists:

  • Rehearsals with collaborative pianists from the Academy Approved Accompanist list may be booked in advance, adhering to the Advanced Booking Policies listed above. They may be up to 2 hours in length, and may be requested at any time of day (including peak times). Requests will be assessed on a case by case basis, and approved pending room availability.
  • Please include the full name and email address of your collaborative pianist in the room booking request.
  • To request a room booking for a rehearsal with a pianist who is not on the Academy Approved Accompanist list, send a request to [email protected].
Chamber Rehearsals:
  • Approved Academy Chamber groups are assigned a weekly rehearsal/coaching time and room.
  • Additional rehearsals for approved chamber groups may be booked in advance, adhering to the Advanced Booking Policies listed above. They may be up to 2 hours in length, and may be requested at any time of day (including peak times). Requests will be assessed on a case by case basis, and approved pending room availability.
  • To request a room booking for a chamber group other than your approved group, send a request to [email protected], and provide the names and email addresses of each member of the ensemble. (Please note that all members must be current Academy students.)
  • To request a room booking for coaching outside of your regular time, your coach must email the request to the Academy Office.

Service desk is open for Same Day walk-up booking requests at the following times: 

Mon-Sat: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.    
Sun & Holidays*: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. 
*Thanksgiving, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day 

Same Day Booking Policies: 

  • Walk-up bookings can be booked for a maximum of 2 hours during peak times (Peak times are any time not listed in the Advanced Booking availability at the top of this page).
  • Within non-peak times, you can book for a maximum of 4 hours (See Advanced Booking availability times for non-peak times).
  • If rooms are unavailable, the Service Desk will have a waitlist, and students will be texted when a room becomes available. 
  • Students must arrive at the service desk within 10 minutes of room opening to secure booking. 

Room Access Cards:

  • Students must provide their student card in exchange for a room card. 
  • Room cards must be returned at the end of each booking. If outside of service desk hours, return the card to the security desk.
