Toronto’s Union Station will feature musicians from The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Taylor Academy as part of its annual Winter events series, bringing a vibrant mix of live music, community programming, and festive cheer to the building’s West Wing. This year’s lineup features everything from holiday pop-ups to classical favourites.

On December 9 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the West Wing will be transformed by the exceptional artistry of performers from The Taylor Academy.

This year’s featured performers are The Chamber of Secrets, a trio whose musicality and passion capture the spirit of the season. Visitors and commuters can expect an uplifting hour of holiday music, performed by emerging artists who embody the RCM’s tradition of excellence.

Whether you’re seeking a moment of calm in the busy holiday season or simply want to experience top-tier live music for free, this performance promises to deliver a warm and memorable evening.

The RCM performance on December 9 is part of a larger series of free winter programming at Union Station, which spans the entire season. Other highlights include:

  • Dec 3: Hallelujah Chorus with Tafelmusik — a joyous sing-along pop-up of Handel’s Messiah.
  • Dec 5: Jordan Astra presented by CBC Radio’s Here and Now as part of the Make the Season Kind campaign.
  • Dec 11: TD Music Celebrates the Holiday Season with Kiesza and Shawnee Kish delivering pop, soul, and festive favourites.
  • Dec 18: Opera Express: Holiday Edition featuring Canadian Opera Company Teaching Artists with RCM alum, Ross Mortimer

These performances create an inviting backdrop to the bustling station, making Union a cultural destination as much as a travel hub. It’s a chance to enjoy the magic of live holiday music — no tickets, no barriers, just pure seasonal joy in the heart of downtown Toronto.
