Kirit Mascarenhas
Kirit Mascarenhas is an Indian-Canadian violinist and educator dedicated to artistic excellence, youth development, and community engagement. A graduate with distinction from the University of Western Ontario, he earned a Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Literature under the mentorship of Professor Annette-Barbara Vogel, and more recently completed an MBA in Arts Innovation from The Global Leaders Institute.
As a dynamic performer, Kirit is frequently invited to collaborate with ensembles across Canada and internationally. He has appeared with the New Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, Tutta Musica, Orchestre de la Francophonie, Kindred Spirits Orchestra, Ensemble Obiora, and has performed in the United States and Europe with the Texas Festival Orchestra, Berlin Opera Academy Orchestra, and Jeunes Orchestre de L’Abbaye.
Kirit also maintains an active freelance career, recently performing in Toronto’s production of Disney’s The Lion King. Offstage, he is a committed music educator who has worked with Sistema New Brunswick, Sistema Toronto, and the Oscar Peterson Program to bring high-quality music education to underserved communities.
An advocate for equity and inclusion in classical music, Kirit also serves as Production Manager and Development Coordinator for Ensemble Obiora, Canada’s first classical ensemble dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices through orchestral performance.
