Yu Xia (Angel) Wang's musical education began at the age of 7 in China. Her early years on violin impressed her teachers and she was soon accepted into the Art School. Angel's accolades and awards accumulated rapidly during her studies. Upon graduation she was awarded the top prize and was immediately recruited to the faculty of the very same Art School.

After two years of experience teaching some of the most advanced students the Art School had to offer, Angel continued her violin studies and advanced musical education at the University of Tianjin with the renowned professor Guohua Zhang. Following several years of performing in China's booming classical music industry she moved to Canada and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Glenn Gould School.

Angel Wang's wide ranging performing career began early as she was invited on several tours in her third year of university with the Tianjin National Symphony Orchestra. Upon graduation the orchestra appointed her to a full time position in the first violin section. Always one to seek out new challenges Angel formed a piano trio, the Angel Trio, which performed and toured together for several years. During this time she was highly active in studio recording and television broadcasts, building a reputation as a much sought after performer and teacher.

In Canada Angel's impressive performing career continues. She has played with numerous orchestras including the Elora Festival Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Orchestra, the Royal Opera Orchestra, the Toronto Philharmonia, Peterborough Symphony Orchestra and the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra. She has also led the Brampton Lyric Opera Orchestra as concertmaster. Angel's musical activities also continue in Toronto's studio and commercial recordings as well as solo television appearances on Fairchild T.V.

Following her first years of teaching at the Art School Angel was Professor Guoha Zhang's teaching Assistant at the University of Tianjin. During her tenure with the Tianjin National Symphony Orchestra Angel maintained a large private studio comprised of students from China and abroad.

Since 2002 Angel Wang has developed a well respected violin studio at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Her students have won numerous awards at festivals and many are pursuing careers in music.
