Camps: Summer Rock Band (Ages 9-14)

Course Description

Learn the basics of playing in a rock band by jamming in a group.

Led by veteran guitarist James Brown this camp will have you playing classic rock songs, blues and even composing your own songs. Students will focus on band collaboration, improvisation, and band performance techniques.

Open to singers and instrumentalists ages 9-14 who play electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, sax, flute, trumpet, vocals, or any other instrument. 

Learning outcomes for this camp include:

• Playign songs in a group.
• Improvising melodies, soloing
• Learning chords and rhythm
• Increased onfidence performing for audience.
• Expanded knowledge of traditional rock, blues and pop styles

Camp wraps up with a performance on the last day.

10:00-11:00 am - Group instruction-techniques-repertoire
11:00 am-1:00 pm - Individual band practice
1:00-2:00 pm - Group jam/performance workshop
