The trailblazing all-women ensemble Artemis performs a tribute to Miles Davis. Toronto supergroup Trane of Thought, featuring ex-Coltrane drummer Terry Clarke, pays homage to John Coltrane.
Led by Canadians Renee Rosnes and Ingrid Jensen, Artemis is known for having a “a killer line-up of players who hail from all over the world and converge on this extremely cosmopolitan, sleek, rhythm-forward, modern sound” (
NPR). The band has been recognized as Group of the Year by
Downbeat Readers Poll for three consecutive years, most recently in 2025.
Saxophone masters Kirk MacDonald and Pat LaBarbera join forces as Trane of Thought to pay tribute to one of jazz music's pioneers of improvisation, harmony, and the saxophone, John Coltrane, joined by some of the finest jazz musicians in Canada – Brian Dickinson on piano, Neil Swainson on bass, as well as Clarke.
After the concert, enjoy a beverage and more music at the Postlude Performance in the Leslie and Anna Dan Galleria.
