Handpicked by the groundbreaking minimalist composer, Philip Glass, The PGE (founded in 1968) carries forward the technical rigor and visionary approach that redefined contemporary music. Performing The Early Works, a program of Glass’s most celebrated pieces from 1974–84, the ensemble brings to life music composed specifically for — and still performed exclusively by — the Philip Glass Ensemble. Highlights include Glassworks, Dance 1 (Einstein on the Beach), Grid (Koyaanisqatsi), and Funeral (Akhnaten).
