In memoriam – Pierre Yves Gagnon

The Royal Conservatory of Music is saddened by the loss of beloved faculty member, Pierre-Yves Gagnon.

Pierre joined the faculty of the Oscar Peterson School of Music, the Royal Conservatory of Music’s community school in 2018, and immediately injected life and excitement into our strings community by creating opportunities for young violists and Suzuki violists.
 
The Royal Conservatory is honoured that Pierre and his family have asked that memorial donations be made to support viola and Suzuki viola scholarships at the Oscar Peterson School of Music. This request is a testament to Pierre’s enduring passion for teaching young people and his advocacy for a strong and vibrant viola community within the Royal Conservatory of Music.
