Ashley Serrano is a guitarist and music educator in Silicon Valley. Self-taught on electric guitar at 14, she drew inspiration from Hendrix, Van Halen, Prince, Vai, and Petrucci before pursuing formal training.
She earned an AA in Music with classical guitar emphasis under Dr. David Chapman, a BM in Guitar Performance from McNally Smith College (studying with Dr. Eva Beneke), and an MM with from USC's Thornton School of Music, where she studied with Grammy-winner Scott Tennant and legend Pepe Romero.
Teaching since 2016, Ashley is a part-time lecturer at CSU Stanislaus and instructor at Community School of Music and Arts, where she works with students of all ages. She's taught in tech companies, classrooms, corporate settings, and coached ensembles throughout the Bay Area. She performs occasionally with local bands and collaborates with CSMA colleagues.
