Amanta Scott

I focus on cultivating the joy of music, finding expressiveness of tone, musicality and technical precision. I encourage students to explore, listen, improvise and have fun! I love theory, harmony and composition. Music is a vehicle through which we can express our deepest feelings and touch the hearts of others. I am a professional musician, visual artist and Artistic Director of Leading Tone Arts Productions, an innovative not-for-profit-charitable arts organization dedicated to interdisciplinary, intercultural arts projects. My artistic practice encompasses music, performance, painting, sculpture, interactive installation, storytelling, video, conversation, Visitor participation and workshops— engaging the public to explore unity in our diversity. I have performed and exhibited in concert venues, theatres, art galleries, museums, and festivals throughout Asia, North America and Europe including: World Trade Centre in Barcelona; National Gallery of Canada; Royal Ontario Museum; Singapore International Arts Festival; Yilan Center, Taiwan; Edmonton Art Gallery; Thunder Bay Art Gallery; Art Gallery of Algoma; Art Gallery of Peterborough; and Art Gallery of Ontario. My work is in collections across North America and Asia.
