Angela Jacobson

I have been teaching private piano lessons for over 40 years. In 2022, I finally returned to full-time University to complete my college degree. I will graduate in July 2025 with my BA in Music (piano emphasis) and plan to begin graduate school in January 2026. I absolutely love teaching; intermediate level students are my favorite, but I have taught students of every level from ages 4 to 85 years old and found joy and satisfaction in all of it. I love the RCM program and believe that the structure, sequencing, and achievement built in are fantastic for those who are goal driven. For those not looking for the competitive edge, the curriculum from RCM is still very useful in finding a variety of styles, composers, etc., and will help build the absolute best technical skills, including technique and aural training. I customize each student's lessons and their program based on their personal goals and skill set. Lessons are weekly with quarterly studio recitals, and additional (optional) studio activities. I have been active in MTNA for 25 years and served in many capacities including festival chair and chapter President. I believe it is important as a teacher to continually work on professional development in all areas related to music and good studio business practices.
