Angelina Gibson

Angelina Gibson is a musician, teacher, and composer residing in southwestern Ontario. She has been teaching for over a decade and is an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. In 2021, she completed her Masters degree in Music Education at Western University with a research focus on developing a curriculum for teaching improvisation on the piano. Along with her husband Kevin, she is co-author of the pedagogical series Invitations to Improvisation, which is designed to guide teachers and students who are new to improvisation into their own creative explorations. Angelina studied with pianist and Juilliard alumna Tina Yanchus. Under her tutelage, she earned an ARCT diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Angelina has received numerous awards, including the Dr. Sherwood Fox Music Award for the most outstanding performance and academic work in 2015. Previously, Angelina was an elementary school teacher, providing music class instruction to students from kindergarten to grade eight, as well as conducting the school choir and band. Currently, she and her husband Kevin run Gibson Music Studios, where they teach a full studio of piano and theory students and continue to pursue creative musical projects together.
