Babur Tongur

Mr. Tongur is a professional musician and an experienced teacher who has thought in Istanbul at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Marmara University and in Ankara Bilkent University between 1979 and 2007. He conducted Istanbul Theatre Orchestra between 1979 and 1989 and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Orchestra between 2000 and 2007. Mr. Tongur moved to Canada in 2009 and lives in Calgary since 2012. In 2013 he co-established Tongur Music and he has been teaching in Tongur Music home studio. Mr. Tongur teaches composition, violin and piano. Mr. Babur Tongur has extensive experience in teaching music. Mr. Tongur taught hundreds of students. Many of his students continue to play violin for fun! Many of his students who decided to become professional musicians are currently performing in world renown orchestras in the North America, Europe and Asia. Due to recent graduations he now has space in his violin studio for new students and he will be accepting new beginners and continuum students who are looking for a new and experienced teacher in Calgary. Any level and absolute beginners at the age of 7 and above are welcome. Mr. Tongur uses combination of Suzuki, RCM and European conservatory systems in his teachings. His students successfully complete RCM exams in varied levels. Mr. Tongur has been chosen one of the best violin teachers in Calgary.
