Caara Yeung

About Me
Caara Yeung is a Canadian flutist and active performer based in Toronto, recognized for her expressive playing and thoughtful approach to teaching. With professional training in Europe and Canada, she brings both artistry and real-world experience to her students.
She teaches students of all ages and levels, offering a supportive and structured environment that balances technical development with musical growth. For beginners and adult learners, lessons focus on tone, breathing, and musical expression—building a strong foundation while making learning enjoyable and rewarding. For intermediate and advanced players, Caara draws on the French flute tradition to refine tone colour, phrasing, and interpretation, helping students play with confidence and artistry.
While Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exam preparation is an important part of her teaching, Caara’s approach goes beyond exams to nurture creativity, stylistic awareness, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Her students have maintained a 100% exam passing rate with an average mark above 87, and in 2025 one received the RCM Regional Gold Medal for the highest mark in Ontario. Many of her students have also won local competitions, achieved top music GPAs, and been accepted into distinguished youth ensembles such as the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra (TYWO).
