DalMaestro Isabella Abbonizio

With over 15 years of teaching experience across Italy and the USA, I am not only a dedicated classical guitar performer and musicologist but also a passionate educator. As the director and co-founder of DalMaestro, an innovative music school offering both online and in-person lessons in New York City, I am deeply committed to fostering a love for music and guitar in all my students. My teaching career is marked by notable successes, with students gaining acceptance into prestigious schools such as the Mannes School of Music at The New School and La Guardia High School. They have also achieved RCM gold medals and certificate awards and have been annually invited to showcase their talents at the RCM Celebrations of Excellence Recital held at illustrious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Kaufmann Center since 2017. As a member of the RCM College of Examiners and an RCM-certified teacher, my academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Rome, Italy, and a Guitar Diploma from the "G. B. Martini" Conservatory of Bologna. My teaching approach is rooted in a deep belief in the transformative power of music, aiming to inspire and cultivate not just skills but a lifelong passion for the art.
