Daniel Jiménez García

Daniel Jiménez García is a composer, pianist, and educator with nearly two decades of professional and teaching experience. He currently serves as a Professor at the Complejo Cultural Universitario of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and as a Professor at CIPAC Bellas Artes in the State of Mexico. He is also the Associate Director of Galería 16, a contemporary art space in Puebla, where he integrates cultural management, education, and interdisciplinary artistic creation.

Daniel’s teaching focuses on piano performance, music composition, and collaborative piano, combining solid technical foundations, critical thinking, and innovative pedagogical approaches. His educational philosophy seeks to nurture artistic autonomy, foster intellectual curiosity, and connect tradition with avant-garde practices, creating deeply meaningful learning experiences for his students.

As a composer, his works have been premiered and performed internationally in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, and Mexico, in prestigious venues and festivals.
In 2024, he presented the video-dance piece Ni-Juu-Sei, recorded at the Berlin Wall with the support of the Stiftung Berliner Mauer (Berlin Wall Foundation). This project explores historical memory and resilience through sound and movement, consolidating his artistic presence in Europe and reinforcing his vision of creation as a tool for social reflection.

Daniel’s artistic production is characterized by sonic hybridity, interdisciplinary experimentation, and the exploration of contemporary identities, spanning from acoustic works to large-scale multimedia installations.
In the audiovisual field, he has composed original music for nine films, with highlights including Maraña, directed by Brisa Sánchez, and Paradojas, directed by Josué Hermés, both of which have been awarded at international festivals.

In the academic sphere, Daniel has been invited as a guest speaker and creator to renowned international institutions, including:
• Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM): 2010, 2013, 2018, 2024, and 2025.
• Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM): 2018, 2024, and 2025.
• Université Jean Monnet, Saint-Étienne, France: 2013.

He has completed artistic residencies at Harvard University (Boston, 2011) and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, 2010 and 2013), solidifying a career deeply rooted in the intersection of artistic creation, research, and academic reflection.

His distinctions include:
• Accreditation of Institutional Interest, awarded by the Universidad Nacional de La Rioja (UNLaR) in Argentina (2014).
• Recognition by BUAP (2015) for his artistic trajectory and his work as a cultural manager.

Daniel is also a registered teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto, Canada), where he prepares students for high-level international certifications, strengthening his global reach as an educator.
