Daniel Ramjattan

With many of my students having received first prizes in the OMFA provincials as well as the RCM Gold Medal for the highest marks in the province, I maintain a busy teaching career in my roles as studio instructor at the Wilfrid Laurier University Faculty of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Music's Oscar Peterson School. While completing my doctoral dissertation at the University of Toronto on Music Performance Anxiety and having given dozens of guest lectures on this topic in universities and organizations across Canada, I specialize in helping students realize their best selves on stage and aim to maintain a high standard of excellence without sacrificing their mental health. In short, I believe music is a vehicle to make us better people. My students currently attend or have completed graduate programs at University of Ottawa and University of Toronto. As a soloist, I have given concerts in Japan, the US, most major cities in Canada, as well as in Austria and Italy. I am also featured on Youtube on the Siccas Guitars channel based in Karlsruhe, Germany. In addition to taking major prizes in the FCMF National Music Competition and placing as a finalist in the Hamilton and Montreal International Guitar Competitions, I have also premiered dozens of works by new composers, some of which are featured in my debut album, entitled Inspirations: New Music for Solo Guitar.
