David Shimoni

I have two masters degrees from The Juilliard School and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the CUNY Graduate Center. I have been teaching piano since 2000. The defining characteristics of my teaching are building a healthy and powerful technique through the Taubman Approach, identifying the right practice methods for every stage in the learning process, and connecting interpretation to theory and stylistic considerations for each composer. I have had numerous students in the RSM program, including one that received the highest score for New York at level 8 and another that completed level 10.
