I have been employed at the Royal Conservatory of Music as a private, theory, musicianship and children's group class teacher, examiner, performer and clinician, since 1987. I have served on numerous advisory committees for the Royal Conservatory School and The National Certificate Program. As a Suzuki teacher I have contributed in the development of the RCM’s Music Enrichment Program Twinkler Piano curriculum starting music education as early as three years old. I have been one of the founders and Coordinators of the Royal Diploma Program an integrated music education curriculum body which preceded the Music Enrichment Program. Currently, I serve as Chair of the RCM’s Keyboard department, and I am a member of the Executive Board of the RCM’s Faculty Association, the Suzuki Association of Ontario, and the Suzuki Association of Americas. I have been collaborating with Toronto Arts and other schools providing repertoire and interpretation seminars. In addition, I have founded my Home Studio in the York Region of Toronto where I currently offer private and group instruction in person, as well as, on line using a fully equipped audio and visual environment. Many of my students have successfully completed their music studies at prestigious universities all over the world and are enjoying careers in the fields of classical and jazz performance, music education and composition. I participate in chamber music concerts in Toronto, Athens and the Greek isles. Recent artistic collaborations include performances at the Paros Jazz Academy, the Paros Municipality Music festival and the ALEA III Summer Music Meetings in Naxos. I started piano lessons at the age of 6 at the National Conservatory of Music, Athens, Greece. After numerous distinctions and the completion of the Preliminary Diploma, at the age of sixteen, I pursued studies in Ethnomusicology and Performance at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto and York University. My teachers included Toula Minetou-Metaxa, Spiro Kizas, Valery Lloyd-Watts and Antonin Kubalek. Further studies include Suzuki, Kodaly, and Orff methodologies. I am married and have two adult sons with whom I frequently perform at various events.
