My name is Dora Stefanopoulos and I am a classically trained pianist and music instructor. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University and attended the Taubman Institute and Piano Festival. I have over 30 years of teaching experience, collaborating with students from beginner to advanced levels.
I believe that music should be an integral part of education from a young age, allowing for engagement and connection in various social settings and leading to an appreciation of this art form through the different stages of musical progression. My goal is to offer a stimulating learning experience by motivating, encouraging and inspiring students who embark on their musical journey.
My teaching approach is based on providing well rounded training by:
-refining and improving technical skills with the application of the Taubman approach
-developing musical creativity and personal expression
-teaching theory, history, ear training and sight reading
-preparing students for performances and piano examinations with the RCM
