Drew Donica

Drew Donica aims to share the beautiful process of music making with others. As a teacher, pianist, and adjudicator. Drew is the piano instructor and piano coordinator at Alverno College teaching group piano and private piano lessons. Drew is also on the piano faculty at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and teaches piano at St. Robert School in Shorewood, WI. Prior to moving to Milwaukee, Drew taught at the Parlando School for the Musical Arts in Boulder, Colorado and was a Teaching Assistant and Instructor at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Drew enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities. As an active performer, Drew is the collaborative pianist for the Shorewood Intermediate and High School choirs. He also frequently performs with The Collegium Ladyes Women's Ensemble and other musicians in the Milwaukee area. He enjoys collaborating with vocalists, instrumentalists, chamber ensembles, and choir. As a member of the Music Teachers National Association, he has presented on creativity, studio development, and Recreational Music Making (RMM) at their annual national conferences and serves on the board of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (WMTA). He has judged for WMTA state and district auditions, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music Scholarship Auditions and Piano Festival, and Federation of Music Clubs, among others. Drew received his Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado—Boulder. He also holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Lawrence University. He has studied piano with Melanie Brsan, Anthony Padilla, Ka Man 'Melody' Ng, Robert Spillman, and David Korevaar; and pedagogy with Mary Van De Loo and Alejandro Cremaschi.
