As the head of RCM Academics and Publishing, Elaine led The RCM College of Examiners and was responsible for curriculum development, including syllabi for 22 instruments plus Voice, Speech Arts & Drama, and Theory. She oversaw the publication of multiple resources for teachers and students, including the award-winning Celebration Series® for piano, and similar collections for guitar, violin, voice, and other instruments.
For nearly three decades, Elaine has traveled throughout North America conducting workshops for teachers on a variety of subjects including: Inspiring Creativity through Improvisation; Lead-sheet Reading; Long- and Short-term Planning for Student Success etc.
Elaine has more than fifty years of experience as an independent studio teacher, specializing in piano and theory.
In 2025, in recognition of her contributions to music education, Elaine was named an Honorary Fellow of The Royal Conservatory joining such luminaries as Oscar Peterson and Glenn Gould.
