Elena Papavero

I am a skilled conscientious teacher. I enjoy enabling others to express themselves through music.
I recognize the value of each student as a whole person who will enjoy and share the joy of music for years to come. I am flexible and give encouragement at every opportunity. My lessons are fun and interactive, and geared towards each student’s unique learning style. I am an accomplished pianist and I have studied piano for many years. I received music education at Rutgers University, Music Therapy training while completing my doctorate in behavioral sciences and I also have a background in facilitating adult music learning. In addition, I hold a certificate in elementary piano pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I believe music is a lifelong pursuit. I have studied with Eliza Bokman (founder of the International Young Maestro Competition), Ho-Yi Chen (DMA, Manhattan School of Music), and continue to study piano and music theory with Professor Brian Gilmore (award-winning pianist and pedagogue). I offer a holistic approach to piano instruction, with a goal of teaching students to play with technical proficiency so they can express themselves freely and artistically.
