The most important part of teaching is understanding the method of learning. I have been a pianist most of my life and I am currently working on my ARCT. I am also a psychologist and I am very keen on understanding the learning process, since it is different for each individual. Learning how to play the piano is not only an enjoyable experience or hobby, but the neural connections that are made throughout the process enhance your cognitive strength in many aspects of life and within other disciplines. The pieces we learn throughout our learning journey at the Royal Conservatory are beautiful classics, but with every piece your learn, you have enhanced your memory, your eye-hand motor coordination, your cognitive understanding of the theory of music and the pleasure and pride of accomplishment. You will enjoy seeing how you progress over time and how your learning is compounded to make your skills and abilities stronger over time. Learning to play the piano is rewarding at every age. For young students who are building their brain strength and versatility or for seniors who are strengthening their memory. For the more senior students, learning how to play the piano is the best way to alleviate any symptoms of dementia. Please reach out to me, regardless of where you are on your journey in learning. I will look at your learning style and find ways to help you learn better, faster and enhance your memory. I am a pianist and a psychologist and a learning specialist. Please contact me to set up a consultation. * Qualifications Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 10 Piano and Theory Royal Conservatory of Music, (ARCT in progress) Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP P7879) Master of Science in Psychology, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ., Specialized in Positive Psychology Psychology Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (in progress), California Southern University, Santa Clara, CA.
