Jamie Onwood

Jamie’s love for singing began as a child in Chicago where she performed with the Lyric Opera children’s chorus, and other theatre companies in the area, and also took piano to an advanced level. She’s a Northwestern University alumnus, having appeared in several operas while studying there. Over nearly 15 years living in Vancouver, she performed for City Opera Vancouver, Burnaby Lyric Opera, Opera Kelowna, among others. For teaching and singing in pop contemporary styles (CCM) Jamie completed Estill training and Somatic Voicework in 2017 and in 2020. Now recently relocated to Toronto, she is eager to pass on the joy of music and learning to her students as she has been doing for over 20 years! Her focus is on building healthy singing technique; exploring along with the student to find the most satisfying, beautiful way to sing.
