🎹 Jan Janovsky – Pianist, Educator, Mentor
Jan Janovsky is more than a pianist—he’s a mentor who helps students reach their musical dreams. His students have gone on to study at world-class institutions including Juilliard, the University of Toronto, the University of Alberta, the University of Leeds, and more. Whether your goal is to pursue a professional music career or simply unlock your creativity at the piano, Jan has a proven record of guiding students exactly where they want to go.
Holding a B.Mus in Piano Performance, a Jazz Diploma from Humber, and an M.M. in Jazz Studies, Jan brings both depth and versatility to his teaching. His lessons blend the best of classical training with creativity and innovation: Royal Conservatory of Music exam preparation, composition, group classes, improvisation, and jazz.
But Jan is more than a teacher—he’s a performer who knows how to inspire. Called a modern-day Victor Borge for his blend of virtuosic piano and quick-witted humor, Jan has performed everywhere from Canada’s stages to the world’s top cruise lines as a headliner, as well as serving as Music Director for celebrated international cabaret stars.
Whether you dream of mastering RCM exams, diving into jazz and improvisation, or pursuing music at the highest academic levels, Jan helps students find their path—and succeed on it.
