Jay Clipperton

Jay Clipperton is an eclectic composer, vocalist and avid pianist based out of Toronto, Ontario. He has a bachelor of fine arts with honors from YorkU with a with a specialty in jazz piano and heavy doses of composition and vocal a cappella. Jay began teaching music in 2004, with a multi-genre approach allowing students of all ages to pursue the music that inspires them most. He has taught song-writing clinics, coached teenage rock bands, accompanied soloists, examinations and been the musical director of summer camps, stage plays and a Cappella ensembles. While performing with Wibi, Countermeasure, Boom Vox and others, he opened for Juno and Grammy awards winners such as Cadence, The Nylons, The Swingles and Ben Folds, sung for the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the opening ceremonies of the Queen’s Plate and MLB, the Toronto beaches jazz festival, Sing! vocal arts festival and many more. While not teaching or performing, Jay works as a game developer specializing as sound designer, audio programmer and composer for video games and VR experiences, currently technical audio director at Ubisoft Toronto, credits include Bendy and the Ink Machine, Iron Man VR, Wildmender and many more.
