Jay Clipperton

Jay Clipperton is an eclectic composer, vocalist and avid pianist based out of Toronto, Ontario. He has a bachelor of fine arts with honors from YorkU with a with a specialty in jazz piano and heavy doses of composition and vocal a cappella. Jay began teaching music in 2004, with a multi-genre approach allowing students of all ages to pursue the music that inspires them most. He has taught song-writing clinics, coached teenage rock bands, accompanied soloists and examinations and been the musical director of summer camps, stage plays and his university a Cappella ensemble Wibi. While performing with Wibi, Countermeasure, Boom Vox and others, he has had opportunities to open for Juno nominated vocal group Cadence and the acclaimed front man Ben Folds, sung for the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the opening ceremony of the Queen’s Plate, the Toronto beaches jazz festival, Sing! vocal arts festival and many more. While not teaching or performing, Jay works as a sound designer, audio programmer and composer for video games and VR experiences (Bendy and the Ink Machine, Blasters of the Universe etc.).
