Liz Craig

Teacher ARCT
I offer a student centered, goal based curriculum that is primarily concerned with developing musical literacy within each student. My goal is that my students feel confident interpreting, creating and performing. To achieve this, we look at a wide variety of pieces as well as explore improvisation, arranging and composition at the piano. Students are encouraged to perform at a variety of events throughout the year to celebrate what they have accomplished as well as build confidence and performance skills. I offer preparation for RCM practical and theoretical exams, music festivals and competitions as well as opportunities for community involvement. High school students can earn credits through their participation in exams and volunteer opportunities. Some kind words: "Liz's kind and patient manner engaged and encouraged our two children Liam (15) and Sidney (14) to practice and perform on the piano. She established a relaxed rapport with both of them. She has obvious high skills and talent. Her broad range of knowledge included a more modern repertoire tailored to the children's personalities that maintained their interest and allowed them to experiment freely. The convenience of her coming to our home was greatly appreciated and she was very considerate when schedules had to be adjusted. I would highly recommend Liz. She was a pleasure to have in our home and an asset to our children's enjoyment and advancement in music." - G.
